VANGUARD Shopping Around For New Record Deal

March 5, 2007

Finnish "dark metal" act VANGUARD, who parted ways with Armageddon Music last fall, has issued the following update:

"We're recording another demo of the new songs [this week] to confirm the record companies we have already started to speak with, and we plan to have it finished, at least the recordings, by the end of the week. Two more songs will be recorded now, in addition to the three slightly older ones you can find [on our web site]. We're hoping to get a lot done this week, so that maybe next week could bring us some answers about the future and the timetables of the recording of the second album. But we'll know more in a few days."

VANGUARD won a band contest held by Metal Hammer magazine and Armageddon Music at the Wacken Open Air festival in 2004 and released its debut record, "Succumbra", in the summer of 2005. Since then VANGUARD has performed a number of gigs, including a club show at the Tuska Open Air festival and again in Germany at the Wacken Open Air festival.

You can check out VANGUARD's new material at the band's web site, www.vanguard.fi.
